Apps

We think these offer helpful information and advice. Remember, this is not a substitute for care so make sure to ask our team if you have any concerns. We do not control any of the information presented in these APPs. But, these APPs are offered by reliable organizations that we trust.

Here Are Some Of Our Favorite APPs

  • Pediatric Associates at Northwoods App

An app icon for your practice by remedy web inc.

There are only so many apps one can use regularly, and there are thousands of parenting apps to choose from. So how does a parent or guardian decide which parenting apps are worth installing and which aren’t? Which offer credible, reliable information and which don’t?

    • Our PAN APP is always a good start:

  • Milestone Tracker App

This is a great APP for families with kids from birth through age 5. Load your child’s ages and you can see what to anticipate for their next developmental milestones. It is organized by “developmental streams” including Social(how they interact with others) , Language (how they communicate,) Cognitive (thinking,) Movement. It includes “When to Act Early” signs that we should take a closer look. Remember, that all children develop at their own rate. What is great about this APP is that you can chart your child’s progress!

  • KidsDoc Symptom Checker

Kidsdoc is a handy app that helps parents with trusted medical advice.

Dr. Barton Schmidt's protocols, available through the KidsDoc Symptom Checker on HealthyChildren.org and the accompanying iPhone app, provide valuable guidance for parents in managing childhood illnesses. These are the same protocols our nurses use to give advice and you can also find them on our website. While these resources serve as helpful tools for parents, they are not a substitute for direct discussion with your child's pediatrician. However, they can certainly aid in understanding symptoms, knowing when to seek medical attention, and facilitating more meaningful discussions with healthcare professionals.

  • MindShift CBT - Anxiety Relief

It helps you understand the different types of anxiety including Worry, Panic, Perfectionism, Social Anxiety and Phobias and helps you learn strategies for each of these. Nice review of where anxiety comes from and how it makes your body and mind feel. Very helpful!
