Dr. Barton Schmidt's protocols, available through the KidsDoc Symptom Checker on HealthyChildren.org and the accompanying iPhone app, provide valuable guidance for parents in managing childhood illnesses. These are the same protocols our nurses use to give advice and you can also find them on our website. While these resources serve as helpful tools for parents, they are not a substitute for direct discussion with your child's pediatrician. However, they can certainly aid in understanding symptoms, knowing when to seek medical attention, and facilitating more meaningful discussions with healthcare professionals.
