Our schedule is designed to try to separate children who are well from those who are potentially infectious. Our goal is to minimize school absences, knowing that sometimes this is not possible.
To help provide timely service to our patients, we schedule all visits. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer walk-in appointments but we do have same day sick appointments. Our phones open at 8:30 am. If your child is sick and you would like a same day sick visit, please call as early as possible to schedule a visit.
Office Hours
Urgent Care (Please call beginning at 8:30am for an appointment.)
For acute care, kindly call the office beginning at 8:30 am to speak with a medical secretary who will schedule an appointment for you. Sometimes an appointment may not be needed. We have a well-qualified triage team, who will listen to your concerns and will advise you regarding your issue, check with the physician and call you back or schedule an appointment if necessary. If our nurse is on with another caller, the medical secretary will take a message and you will receive a return call.
For well visits, kindly call the office to speak with a medical secretary. Well visits may be scheduled up to 3 months in advance. You will receive an automated reminder 3 months ahead of when your child is due for their next well visit.
Our doctors take emergency calls from their homes after hours and during the weekends when the office is closed.
Call the main office number (508) 880-7858, to be directed to our answering service. Please remove any blocks that are on your lines so we can return your call.
Kindly save routine questions (mild illness, appointments, referrals, prescription refills) for the morning or next business day.
Please refer to our website "Is Your Child Sick?" where you may find helpful information about managing common illnesses.
After-hours, we utilize a nursing triage service to answer any urgent concerns. Please know that many insurance companies also have night time nurse call lines available for advice.
IN THE EVENT OF A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY, PLEASE CALL 911.
Pediatric Associates at Northwoods makes every effort to run on time with appointments, as we believe everyone’s time is equally valuable. We ask that you arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
We understand sometimes things happen beyond your control that may cause you to be late, however; if you arrive 15 minutes or more after your scheduled time you may be offered the next available appointment with another provider or possibly be asked to reschedule your appointment.
We view appointments as a promise between you and our office. As a courtesy, we will remind you of your upcoming appointments via phone/text message and/or email.
Our office is committed to being available for your child's needs at the scheduled time. We would ask that you extend the same courtesy to us and other families who may need to come into the office. We request 24 hours’ notice for cancellation of appointments to allow us to offer the visit spot to another family.
Missed appointments and late cancellations prevent us from being able to provide needed care to your child and other families in a timely manner.
We have a primary care model within the context of a unified team. Your wellness visits will typically be scheduled with your PCP. When scheduling acute care visits, we will try to schedule with your PCP first. For your scheduling convenience, being able to schedule a sick visit with another provider may allow greater flexibility.
